We do not place blanket restrictions on language or mature themes. However, there are limits on how that content is used and portrayed on site using the RPG Rating 322:
Language 3 — Swearing and mature language are permitted.
Sex 2 — Sexual content is permitted within the site's restrictions.
Violence 2 — Violence is permitted within the site's restrictions.
Swearing and strong language are permitted, but we have zero tolerance for OOC hate speech, harassment or bullying of other members. Likewise, mature or sensitive themes may be explored in character, provided they remain within the boundaries outlined below.
Sexual content between consenting characters aged 18 or over is permitted up to a point. Once a scene becomes explicitly sexual or involves the depiction of genitals, we ask that you fade to black for the remainder of the scene. What happens beyond that point is, of course, up to you and your RP partner to explore privately offsite.
Violence is also permitted within reason, but we will draw a line at excessively graphic or gruesome descriptions. Plots involving a character's death, severe injury, or the committing of major crimes should be discussed with staff in advance so that we can help ensure they can be facilitated appropriately.
We are open to plots involving sensitive subject matter. This may include, but is not limited to, self-harm, disordered eating, abuse, discrimination, suicide, murder, crime, and other topics of a similar nature.
Content warnings are required both at the top of a sensitive thread and on individual posts where appropriate, particularly where the nature of the content may change during a thread.
We reserve the right to ask for content to be edited, paused or to remove the content ourselves where necessary, or to decline or end a storyline where we feel it has crossed a content boundary.
