The Spellcraft University of Aotearoa is (obviously) a university, and as such there are a selection of degree paths your character can be on. The school offers three major undergrad pathways, all of which may be pursued through a three year Bachelors degree.
Bachelor of Magical Sciences (B.Msc)
Magical Sciences is a predominantly research/theory based pathway, designed for those who want to study why and how magic works, and experiment with the development of new spells. This is the most demanding degree, and as such entry requirements are high, and it can be a competitive field to enter.
Example classes: Magical Theory, Magical History, Symbology
Bachelor of Magical Craft (B.Mct)
Magical Craft is a predominantly practical course, with a focus on the physical act of spell construction. This degree is predominantly made up of craftsmanship courses, and is centered around understanding materials rather than magic itself.
Example classes: Woodworking, Engineering, Spell Construction
Bachelor of Magical Studies (B.Mst)
Magical Studies is a general course that blends elements of both Magical Sciences and Magical Craft. Students in this course take a mix of papers from both disciplines and wind up with a comprehensive all-round understanding of magic, though there is little to no focus on developing new spells in this pathway.
Upon completion of an undergraduate degree, students may choose to continue their studies with either a 1 year Honours degree, a 1-2 year Masters degree, or a 3-4 year Doctorate degree. These are advanced courses of study that allow students to deepen their knowledge in their area of expertise, and can be a requirement for more prestigious career pathways.
